MALIBU, Calif. â€" The Toreros faced No. 9 Pepperdine Friday afternoon for a tough match up. The women lost 4-0 to the undefeated conference team.
 USD was swept by No. 9 Pepperdine during their seventh conference match of the season. Pepperdine is undefeated in conference play and holds a 17-1 overall record.
 The women lost the doubles point to the No. 9 ranked pair, Luisa Stefani and Mayar Sherif at the No. 1 position, 6-2, and then to Ashley Lahey and Adrijana Lekaj at No. 3, 6-0.
 In singles play, Toreros in the No. 1 through No. 4 spots played the Waves top ranked players. Daniela Morales lost to No. 20 Sherif at the No. 2 spot, 6-3, 6-1. And Kati Kukaras was defeated by Pepperdine's No. 101 Laura Gulbe at the No. 4 spot 6-1, 6-1.
 The remaining matches were left unfinished. Carolin Nonnenmacher maintains her six-match win streak going into another conference match against Loyola Marymount Saturday morning.
 San Diego fell to 10-9 overall and 2-5 in conference. They pick up play at LMU Saturday at 11 a.m.
