SAN DIEGO – Kailyn Evans won two events and recorded four top-three finishes overall to highlight San Diego's dual meet against Fresno State on Saturday morning at the Sports Center Pool.

Evans finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.69) and 100 free (53.62), placed third in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.53), and contributed to a second-place result in the 200 free relay.

Despite Evans' standout performance, the Toreros were unable to take down the Bulldogs who won the meet, 186-75.

Six Toreros combined for nine top-three finishes in individual events and USD finished the meet on a high note by placing second and third in the 200 free relay.

Alex Hubel notched a pair of top-three results, finishing second in the 100 butterfly (58.93) and 200 fly (2:10.02).

Samantha Terranova and
Grace Potis led USD in the distance events. Terranova went 18:13.76 to place third in the 1650 free, while Potis touched the wall in 5:15.06 in the 500 free to finish second.

Maeve Murdoch and
Sabrina Firnett logged second place results in 200-yard events. Murdoch went 1:59.76 in the 200 free and Firnett went 2:16.99 in the 200 individual medley.

The quartet of Alexa Philips, Hubel,
Haley Ohlson and Evans led the Toreros in the 200 free relay, combining for a time of 1:37.70 to finish second. They were followed by teammates
Izabella Brazell, Terranova,
Alyssa Hornbuckle and
Mackenna Briggs who finished third in 1:41.84.

USD will host its final home meet of the season next Friday at noon PT when it plays host to San Diego State.
