Solymar Colling and
Daniela Morales led the San Diego women's tennis team in their first match of the Spring season at USC. The Toreros played a day early due to a rain forecast, and fell 4-2 to the Women of Troy.
Freshman Colling defeated USC's Angela Kulikov at the No. 1 spot while Morales defeated #87 Ana Neffa (3-6, 6-3, 6-0).
The Toreros lost the doubles point, but picked up two wins in singles play.
Nicole Anderson played at the No. 2 spot and was defeated by Becca Weissmann 6-1, 3-2, ret.
#99 Danielle Willson claimed a victory over
Kati Kukaras 7-5, 6-1 while
Maria-Paula Torres fell to Estella Jaeger. USC clinched the win after Sydney Van Alphen won over
Gemma Garcia 7-6(5), 6-2.
Next up, the Toreros play at Long Beach State on Saturday, February 2nd at 11 a.m.
