SAN DIEGO – San Diego heads to the Pacific Northwest this week for a pair of matchups against Oregon and Portland.

The Toreros (2-1) open the weekend against the Ducks (3-1) on Friday at 5 p.m. before opening WCC play at the Pilots (1-3) on Sunday at 10 a.m.

It will be the first meeting against Oregon since April 6, 1997, when the Toreros earned a 6-1 victory. The Toreros beat Portland twice last season, earning a 4-0 win in the regular season and a 4-2 victory in the WCC Tournament.

USD split a pair of matches last week in Los Angeles, sweeping Ole Miss 4-0 and falling to No. 7 UCLA, 4-1.

The Toreros made quick work of the Rebels, going 2-0 in doubles and winning each singles match in straight sets.

USD got off to a great start against its first top-10 opponent of the season in the Bruins, with
Joel Gamerov and
August Holmgren defeating Ben Goldberg and Govind Nanda, 6-4.
Guus Koevermans and
David Norfeldt delivered the doubles point in dramatic fashion, rallying back from a 6-5 deficit to win 7-6 (8-6) against Connor Rapp and Patrick Zahraj.
