SAN DIEGO – San Diego women's tennis (1-1) earned a dominating win over Arizona (3-1) at their home opener, 4-2.

Maria-Paula Torres earned the first win of the day with a 6-3 victory over Arizona's Wilson and Heynemans.
Daniela Morales and
Maria Tyrina finished the job with a 7-5 win over Zandberg and Wesbrooks, clinching the doubles point.

#62 Colling was first of the Toreros to earn her win over Arizona. She defeated Wilson 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot.

Arizona fought back with a win on court four. Zandberg defeated Torres 6-3, 6-2.

Kukaras brought the Toreros to 3-1 with her win over Van Aelst at the No. 3 spot (6-1, 7-5).

In a final attempt to turn the match around, Arizona's Wesbrooks grabbed a win over Morales (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) at the No. 2 spot.

From the No. 5 position,
Gemma Garcia clinched the match for the Toreros with a 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 win over Furak.

The Wildcats dropped 3-1 overall while the Toreros improved to 1-1 overall.
The women hit the road to play Montana and Oregon in Eugene February 15 and 16.Â
