SAN DIEGO – San Diego women's tennis defeated Hawaii in a 4-3 decision after a long battle through singles play.
 
Gemma Garcia and 
Kati Kukaras won the first match of the day in doubles, 6-1. 
Daniela Morales and 
Maria Tyrina clinched the win over Sela and Resma at the No. 2 position with a tie breaker 7-6(4) victory.
 
Sophia Chow earned the first win of singles at the No. 6 position.
 
Hawaii took three consecutive wins and the lead 3-2. 
Gemma Garcia took her match to three sets, and pulled out a win to tie the match.
 
The match decision was left to 
Maria-Paula Torres at the no. 4 spot. She battled a though three sets to a win in a tie breaker over Resma 4-6, 6-4, 7(10)-6.
 
The Toreros improved to 3-2 while Hawaii fell 3-2 overall.
 
USD will play cross-city rival San Diego State, Saturday at 11 a.m.
