SAN DIEGO – San Diego Women's tennis upset Long Beach State's 6-0 win streak in a 4-3 decision, Thursday.
Gemma Garcia and
Kati Kukaras won the first match of the day in doubles 6-1 at the No. 3 position.
Maria-Paula Torres and
Solymar Colling clinched the doubles point win over Rutkowska and Meyer.
Colling earned the first win of singles 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 1 spot.
Long Beach took two consecutive wins to tie the match 2-2.
Gemma Garcia won her match in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 which put the Toreros back in the lead.
Torres clinched the match at the No. 4 position. She won 7-5, 7-6 over Meyer.
The Toreros improved to 5-2 while Long Beach fell 6-1 overall.
USD will play Middle Tennessee Wednesday at 11a.m.
