SAN DIEGO – Gemma Garcia provided the clinching point for San Diego in a dominating 6-1 victory against Middle Tennessee on Wednesday at the Hogan Tennis Center.

It is the fourth straight victory for the Toreros which improved to 6-2 on the season.

USD dominated throughout the match and nearly swept the Blue Raiders (4-8), winning the doubles point and five consecutive singles matches.

Maria Tyrina and
Daniela Morales got USD started with a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles. Garcia and
Kati Kukaras sealed the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 3.

Solymar Colling quickly doubled the Toreros lead with a 6-0, 6-1, victory at No. 1 singles against Lidia Burrows.

Maria-Paula Torres, Garcia, Morales and Kukaras followed with singles victories of their own to put USD up, 6-0.

The Toreros continue play on Saturday at 11 a.m. PT when they travel to UNLV.
