SPOKANE, Wash. – Nico Borter provided the clinching point to lead No. 27 San Diego to its fourth consecutive win, defeating Gonzaga 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Stevens Center.

After the Bulldogs (8-3, 0-1 WCC) tied the match at 2-2, the Toreros (10-3, 4-0 WCC) won the next to matches to secure their eighth win in the past nine matches.

Joel Gamerov got USD going in doubles play with a 6-4 win at No. 2.
David Norfeldt and
Guus Koevermans clinched the point with a 6-2 victory at No. 3.

Norfeldt and Koevermans improved to 11-1 in dual match play and 9-1 at the No. 3 spot.

Gonzaga leveled the match with a win at No. 2 in singles play but No. 70
Gui Osorio put the Toreros back in front with a 6-3, 6-3, result at No. 1 against Ruadhan O'Sullivan.

The Bulldogs tied the match for a second time with a win at No. 4.

Koevermans took care of business at No. 6 to put USD back in front, 3-2, with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1, comeback victory against Matthew Perkins.

Borter sealed the victory by defeating Kyle Everly, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0, at the No. 3 position.

The Toreros return to San Diego for one match next week, heading across town to San Diego State on March 16 at noon PT.
