SAN DIEGO – No. 31 San Diego's season came to an end with a 4-0 loss at No. 8 USC on Saturday afternoon at the Marks Tennis Stadium.

The Toreros (21-5) took three singles matches to the third set and nearly took a fourth but the Trojans (23-7) were able to win a tiebreaker in a second-set to secure the victory.

With USC leading 3-0,
Gui Osorio,
August Holmgren and
Noah Dufort pushed their matches into the third set.

Joel Gamerov was knotted up with Riley Smith, 6-6, in the second set and went to a tiebreaker. Gamerov held advantages throughout the tiebreaker but could not pull away when needed and Smith was able to win, 11-9.

It was a tough loss for the Toreros which racked up multiple accomplishments throughout the season, including the following:

- Won their fifth WCC regular-season title in the past six years.
- Won their sixth straight WCC Tournament championship.
- Reached 20 wins for the third time in the past five years.
- Advanced to the NCAA Tournament second round for the second straight year and seventh time in the past nine seasons.

The future remains bright for the Toreros which expect to return every starter next year.
