August Holmgren of the San Diego men's tennis team became the first Torero in program history to advance to the ITA All-American championship match. The Espergaerde, Denmark native won five straight matches en route to the championship, eventually falling to Florida's Ben Shelton, 6-3, 6-4.
Holmgren defeated singles athletes from Princeton, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Hawaii, including three in straight sets.Â
