INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Outscoring the Bulldogs 38-7 in the second half, San Diego football (2-4, 2-1 PFL) dominated Butler (2-4, 0-3 PFL) for its second consecutive conference win, 52-21.

Mason Randall completed 24-of-29 passes for 257 yards, four total touchdowns, and no interceptions for a rating of 191.3.

Rhyle Hanson compiled 85 total yards on nine rushes and five receptions, including his first career touchdown in the third quarter.

Christian Brown registered four receptions for 72 yards and two touchdowns in the win, while wide receiver
Vance Jefferson caught his first career touchdown on a 22-yard pass in the second quarter.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
- On Butler's first drive of the game, defensive lineman Muhindo Kapapa jumped on a fumble to set up USD at the opponent's 28-yard line. Quarterback Mason Randall later rushed for a 16-yard touchdown on a draw for the first score of the game.
- The Bulldogs answered with a 59-yard touchdown pass and a 1-yard touchdown run to take the lead.
- Starting at their own 14-yard line, USD compiled a 12-play, 86-yard drive in 6:24 to tie the game. Randall eventually found Jefferson for a 22-yard touchdown pass across the middle.
- Early in the third quarter, kicker Brandon Eickert connected on a 34-yard field goal to put USD ahead, 17-14.
- Momentum shifted when freshman Logan Gingg blocked a Butler punt and sophomore Chase Lyons recovered on the opponent's 5-yard line. On the next play, Hanson took a toss to the right side for the touchdown. The extra point put San Diego ahead 24-14.
- Late in the third quarter, Randall found Hanson for a 17-yard pass on third-and-11. After a USD timeout, Randall launched a 32-yard touchdown pass to Christian Brown, giving the Toreros a 31-14 advantage.
- With 10:16 left in the fourth quarter, Zamir Wallace broke up a pass before Hawkins swooped in for the interception, returning it 24 yards for a touchdown.
- Hunter Nichols intercepted another pass with less than 10 minutes to play in the fourth, taking it back 44 yards to the Butler 20.Â
- The Randall-Brown duo struck again to put the game out of reach, completing a wheel route for a 19-yard touchdown.
- With 3:52 remaining in the fourth, Zamir Wallace put an exclamation point on the win with a 53-yard pick six.

- Randall scampered for his second career rushing touchdown in addition to three passing today.
- The San Diego offense racked up 409 total yards, with a balanced 257 passing and 152 rushing. The Toreros totaled 25 first downs and were 5-5 in the red zone.
- Jefferson snagged the first touchdown of his short career. Through six games, he has 16 receptions catches for 175 yards.
- Hanson's touchdown was the first of his career. Coming into the game, he had 41 attempts for 169 yards.
