SAN DIEGO - San Diego men's tennis (2-0) will be back at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center this week with a pair of home matches, the first on Feb. 19 versus Arizona State (5-1) and the second versus WCC rival St. Marys (1-3) on Feb. 20.
The matches will start at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively.
All time, the Toreros are 0-2 versus the Sun Devils with the last match up coming in 2019, a heartbreaking 4-3 loss. San Diego is 13-1 all time versus the Gales and have won ten straight.
Last season, Arizona State finished with an overall record of 4-7 while St. Marys went 7-4.
Last time out, the Toreros came out on top in a hard fought battle versus UC Irvine 5-2.
San Diego won the double's point with a 6-2 win by August Holmgren and
David Norfeldt which was quickly followed by a 6-3 win by
Nico Borter and
Sacchitt Sharrma. The Toreros clinched the overall win with singles victories by Norfeldt,
Ilias Zimmermann and
Nico Borter.
