DALLAS, Texas: San Diego men's tennis (4-4) lost its third straight on Friday losing to Texas Tech 4-1 in Dallas, Texas. 

"We need to find a way to sink our teeth into the match and extend our chances every time we compete,"said head coach Ryan Keckley. "In singles, we bounced back and made a push to take five first sets. It was critical from a momentum standpoint that we capitalize in each position to build back the confidence." 

The Toreros fell behind when August Holmgren and David Norfeldt were defeated 6-1 in their doubles match which was followed by Blake Kasday and Marvin Schaber's 6-1 loss as Texas Tech took the doubles point.

San Diego had chances to take control of the match in singles play but were ultimately defeated when Nico Borter lost 6-4, 6-3 on court two, Sachhit Sharrma lost 6-3, 6-4 on court four and Blake Kasday lost 7-6 (5), 6-2 on court five. Holmgren won the lone match for the Toreros with 6-2, 6-1 win on court one. 

"Congrats to August on another great win in singles," said Keckley. "He continues to lead this team in the right direction with his competitiveness and work ethic." 

The Toreros will be back on the court March 16 as they welcome USC to the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. The match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (PT).
