Toreros Take on No. 17 Cal

San Diego looking to win fifth in a row

SAN DIEGO - San Diego women's tennis (5-2) will be welcoming a top 25 team to the Skip and Cindy Hogan tennis center, this Sunday as they take on No. 17 Cal on March 14. It will be the second time that the Toreros have faced a top 25 team at home this season.

This will be the first all time meeting between the Toreros and Cal.

San Diego will look to continue their tremendous play, having won four straight all of which were 7-0 sweeps.

In their last match, the Toreros picked up their first road win of the season against San Diego State. Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith continued to dominate in doubles play against the Aztecs with a 6-4 win.

The two continued their strong showing with wins in singles play as freshman Jordyn McBride also continued her strong start to her collegiate career with a 6-2, 6-2 win in her matchup. Goldsmith's play did not go unrecognized as she was named to the USTA Southern California All-SoCal team on Thursday. Goldsmith was one of 12 players honored by the association.
