SAN DIEGO - San Diego men's tennis (4-5, 1-0 WCC) will be back on the courts at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center for back-to-back matches, starting on Friday, March 19 as they take on WCC opponent San Francisco (4-2, 0-0 WCC) followed by a ranked showdown against No. 41 Cal (2-1).
The matches are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. (PT) respectively.Â
All time, the Toreros are 12-0 against the Dons with the last win, a 5-2 victory, coming in 2019. San Francisco is coming of a 5-2 win over Northern Arizona on Tuesday. San Diego will be looking to pick up their first ever win against the Golden Bears, whose last match came on January 25, a 4-3 win over UNLV.Â
Last time out, the Toreros came up short in a 5-2 loss against No. 10 USC. San Diego fell behind after losing the doubles point but tied the match with a 6-3, 6-1 milestone win by Blake Kasday, his first singles win.Â
USC pushed the lead to 3-1 but the Toreros cut it to 3-2 with August Holgren's 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 upset win over No. 1 Daniel Cukierman. The Trojans won the final two matches to put the final score at 5-2.Â
