SAN DIEGO - August Holmgren continued his amazing play as San Diego men's tennis (5-5, 2-0 WCC) defeated San Francisco (5-3, 0-1 WCC) 5-2 on Friday at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center 

The Toreros got off to a great start with  Holmgren and David Norfeldt's 6-2 doubles win on court one and clinched the double's point with Blake Kasday and Sacchitt Sharrma's 6-4 win on court three. 

The Dons tied the match when Sharrma was forced to forfeit  on court three, but San Diego pushed back ahead with Holmgren's 6-0, 7-5 win on court one. 

Norfeldt put the Toreros on the verge of a win with a 6-1, 6-3 win on court four. Blake Kasday clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win, his second consecutive match win.

USF cut the lead to 4-2 with a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) win on court five, but Nico Borter made it 5-2 with a 7-6, 6-7, 1-0 (10-8) win on court two.  

The Toreros will be back on the court March 25 as they travel  to take on Portland. The match will begin at 10:00 a.m. (PT).
