SAN DIEGO - San Diego women's tennis (10-3, 4-0 WCC) will head back on the road this week as they take on San Francisco (10-5, 2-2 WCC) on Friday, April 16 at noon, followed by Santa Clara (2-11, 0-5 WCC) on Saturday, April 17 at 11:30 am (PT).
The Toreros are currently on a five-game winning streak and have won nine of their last ten matches. San Diego sits tied with Pepperdine for first place in the WCC standings.Â
Last time out, San Diego secured their fifth straight, defeating BYU 6-1. Jordyn McBride and Abigail Desiatnikov's 6-3 doubles win clinched the doubles point for Toreros and was the pairings' fourth straight doubles win.
The two continued to shine in their singles matches as McBride won her fifth straight singles match with a 7-5, 6-0 victory on court two, and Desiatnikov won her fourth in a row with a 7-5, 6-3 win on court four. Solymar Colling picked up her tenth win of the season with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court one.Â
All-time, the Toreros are 14-3 against the Dons, with the last matchup coming in 2019, a 4-0 road win for San Diego. The Toreros are 9-4 against the Broncos and won the previous meeting between the programs, a 4-2 home victory.
