SAN DIEGO - Riding a seven-match winning streak, San Diego women's tennis (12-3, 6-0 WCC) will return to the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center for a match against Washington State on Wednesday, April 21 at 1:30 p.m. (PT)
The Toreros have won 11 of their last 12 and remain atop the WCC standings.Â
Last time out, San Diego swept its eighth opponent of the season, defeating Santa Clara 7-0 on the road. Jordyn McBride and Abigail Desiatnikov won their sixth straight doubles match, a 7-5 victory that clinched the doubles point for the Toreros.Â
The winning streaks continued in singles play as Victoria Kalaitzis won her seventh straight singles match, which pushed the lead to 2-0. Desiatnikov clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-3 win, her fifth consecutive singles win. The match was also headlined by Elisabeth Andryukhova earning her first singles win with a 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) victory.
San Diego is 4-3 against Washington State and defeated the Cougars 4-3 at home last season.
