SAN DIEGO - San Diego women's tennis (13-3, 6-0 WCC) expanded its winning streak to eight straight with a 6-0 sweep of Washington State (13-15) on Wednesday afternoon. The Toreros have now won 12 of the last 13 matches and have swept an opponent nine times this season. 

San Diego continued its trend of fast starts as Kati Kukaras and Elisabeth Andryukhova won their doubles match 6-2 on court three and the doubles point was clinched by Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith, who defeated their opponents 6-4 in court one. 

In singles play, the lead was quickly extended to 2-0 as Abigail Desiatnikov made quick work of her opponent on court four with a 6-2, 6-0 dominant win, her sixth straight singles win. Jordyn McBride got her sixth straight singles win as well, a 6-1, 6-0 victory which put the Toreros up 3-0. 

The match was clinched by Kukaras, who won 7-5, 6-2 on court six. In the remaining singles matches, Victoria Kalaitzis battled back from a first set defeat to win 6-7(4), 6-0, 1-0 (10-4), and Colling won her 13th match of the year with a thrilling 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 victory over No. 78 Michaela Bayerlova on court one. 

San Diego will be back in action at home on Thursday, April 22, as they take on No. 44 Washington at noon (PT).
