SAN DIEGO - San Diego women's tennis (14-3, 6-0 WCC) continued its historic form with a 4-0 upset sweep of No. 44 Washington (14-7) on Thursday afternoon at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. 

 With Thursday's win, the Toreros secured the third-longest winning streak in program history with their ninth straight victory. San Diego also recorded their tenth sweep of the season, passing the 1983 and 2011 squads for most shut-out victories in a season. 

The Toreros continued to get off to a fast start as Kati Kukaras and Elisabeth Andryukhova won their second straight doubles match with a 6-2 victory on court three. Washington won the doubles match on court one, but Jordyn McBride and Abigail Desiatnikov responded by clinching the doubles point for San Diego with a 6-4 win on court two. The key victory marked the pairings' seventh consecutive doubles win.  

Multiple players continued their winning streaks in singles play as Victoria Kalaitzis pushed the Toreros lead to 2-0, with a 6-1, 6-1 win on court five, her ninth straight win, and McBride won her seventh in a row winning 6-4, 6-2 on court three. Desiatnikov recorded her seventh straight win as well and clinched the match for San Diego with a 6-3, 6-2 win. 

The Toreros will have a chance to move into the driver's seat for a WCC Championship as they welcome No. 7 Pepperdine to the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center for a first-place showdown on Sunday, April 25 at 11 a.m. (PT).
