SAN DIEGO - San Diego women's tennis (14-4, 6-1 WCC) took two doubles matches into tiebreaks and three singles matches into a third set, but were defeated 7-0 by No. 7 Pepperdine (20-3, 8-0 WCC) on Sunday morning at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. 

In doubles, the Toreros took the first match as Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith defeated their opponent 6-4 on court one. Kati Kukaras and Elisabeth Andryukhova pushed their counterparts into a tiebreak but were defeated 7-4. On court two, Abigail Desiatnikov and Jordyn McBride battled back from down 5-3 and 6-5 to push their opponents into a tiebreak as well, but lost 7-3 as Pepperdine won the doubles point. 

In singles play, the Waves lead was pushed to 2-0 with a win on court two and 3-0 with a win on court four. Colling, and McBride battled back from first set defeats to push their ranked opponents to a third set, and Victoria Kalaitzis went to a third set in her match but Pepperdine clinched the match with a win on court six. 

The Toreros will return to the Skip and Cindy Hogan Center on Wednesday, April 28 as they take on Gonzaga at noon (PT).
