SAN DIEGO – The No. 38 University of San Diego men's tennis team earned its fifth straight win on Sunday, defeating No. 46 Gonzaga, 4-0.
 
The Toreros earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 (#43 August Holmgren/Gui Osorio) and No. 2 (Will Davies/Iiro Vasa).
 
#8 Holmgren quickly earned a win at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, followed by Sacchitt Sharrma at No. 3 and Alex Stater at No. 5.
 
"It's always great to get the second WCC win of the season on our courts," said head coach Ryan Keckley. "We knew Gonzaga was going to push us today, but I was proud of our boys for outlasting them in the end. I thought we looked flat coming out of the gates in singles and doubles in certain spots. We have to find a way to start faster and bring the fight to our opponents rather than the other way around. We have a lot of great opportunities ahead of us and this thought process will define our upcoming success."
 
USD improves to 6-1 (2-0 WCC) on the season.
