Grace Frohling was named the AVCA National Player of the Week, the American Volleyball Coaches Association Announced on Tuesday morning. The accolade capped a dominant weekend for the Los Angeles, California native, one that saw her lead No. 15 San Diego volleyball to wins over No. 6 Pitt, Texas A&M, and Hawaii at the Texas A&M Invitational.
Frohling totaled 35 kills across three matches and 11 sets played at Reed Arena, tallying a match-high 19 against the No. 6 Panthers, six against the Aggies, and 10 against the Rainbow Wahine before she was named to the Texas A&M Invitational All-Tournament Team and the West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Frohling is averaging 3.18 kills per set so far this season and is hitting a team-best .382.
The Toreros are back in action on Friday, September 2 with a road matchup against No. 3Â Louisville as part of the Cardinal Classic. First serve at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena is set for 4 p.m. PST.
