SEATTLE — San Diego volleyball (3-3, 0-0 WCC) remains away from home this weekend to continue non-conference play, rounding out its longest season-opening road swing since 2006 with a trip to the Husky Invitational hosted by the University of Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena.
The Toreros will take on the University of Arizona at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon before facing off with the tournament host Huskies at the same time on Sunday. Both matches will be streamed live on Big Ten Plus, with live statistics available on StatBroadcast.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST ARIZONA AND WASHINGTON
Arizona:
• The Toreros are 3-7 against the Wildcats all-time, but have won each of their last three matchups against them.
• San Diego's three-match win streak against Arizona dates back to September 2004, when unranked USD swept then-No. 17 Arizona at the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic in Honolulu. The Toreros won again when the two teams met again later that season at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, earning a 3-2 win in the NCAA Tournament to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time ever.
• USD and UA have met just once since then — a 3-0 San Diego sweep in December 2013 that also came during the NCAA Tournament at the JCP and also advanced the Toreros to the Sweet 16 (this time their third trip to that round).
Washington:
• The Huskies lead the all-time series, 4-0.
• Each of USD's last three meetings with UW has come with the Huskies ranked within the Top 25.
• Ranked No. 17 in August 2018, Washington beat the Toreros twice on back-to-back days by scores of 3-0 and 3-1.
• The most recent matchup between USD and UW came in August 2019, when the Toreros dropped a 3-1 decision to the then-No.13-ranked Huskies at the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic in Honolulu.
ROAD WARRIORS
• The Toreros are beginning their 2025 season with eight straight away matches, marking the program's longest season-opening road stretch since 2006, when USD began its schedule by playing nine consecutive contests away from home.
• San Diego opened its 2025 campaign with three matches in Honolulu from August 29-31 as part of the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic before traveling north to Los Angeles last weekend for three matches at the Trojan Invitational from September 5-7. USD now visits Washington for two matches at the Husky Invitational before finally returning home on September 18 to host Yale at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
• While USD's early road swing in 2006 was one game longer, San Diego's 2025 schedule involves far more travel. The Toreros' first three matches in 2006 were technically away from home but took place across town at nearby San Diego State.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Toreros lost all three matches they played last weekend in Los Angeles as part of the Trojan Invitational, falling 3-1 to No. 13 Creighton on Friday (September 5), 3-2 to No. 22 USC on Saturday (September 6), and 3-1 to UC Santa Barbara on Sunday (September 7) at the Galen Center.

• Munday got her weekend started with a 26-assist, nine-dig performance on Friday against No. 13 Creighton, also adding two kills and a block assists against the Bluejays for good measure.
• She then erupted for 49 assists, six digs, two blocks, and a service ace on Saturday night against tournament host No. 22 USC.
