Women’s Soccer Signs Transfer Lexi Zandonella-Arasa

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's soccer program has added a highly decorated Division II talent to the roster as a transfer for the upcoming 2023 season, signing midfielder Lexi Zandonella-Arasa.

Zandonella-Arasa joins the program after two seasons at Division II Sonoma State. Zandonella-Arasa will have two years of eligibility remaining.

A native of Concord, Calif., Zandonella-Arasa quickly developed a reputation as one of the top players in Division II in her early collegiate career. The 2022 West Region Player of the Year and 2022 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Year, Zandonella-Arasa was a force on the offensive end of the pitch, scoring 14 goals and nine assists for 37 points over 20 starts this season.

Her success earned her first team Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-American honors, as well as CCAA first team All-Conference honors and helped lead Sonoma State to the NCAA Division II West Regional.

Over her two seasons at Sonoma State, Zandonella-Arasa scored 20 goals and notched 11 assists for 51 points over 41 games. Zandonella-Arasa was also a gifted student and was recently named a CSC second team Academic All-American.

Zandonella-Arasa is the third transfer to head to San Diego this offseason, joining fellow new additions Sam Gerhart (High Point) and Lauren Tanner (Arkansas).
