#29 Women’s Tennis Earns Second Straight WCC Sweep Against #66 BYU, 7-0

SAN DIEGO – The No. 29 University of San Diego women's tennis team improved to 3-0 in WCC play on Sunday afternoon, sweeping No. 66 BYU, 7-0.
 
San Diego earned the doubles point with a 6-1 win at No. 1 (#12 Kailey and Elizabeth Goldsmith) and a 6-4 margin at No. 3 (Solymar Colling and Filippa Bruu-Syversen)
 
The Toreros then won all six singles matches, including five in straight sets. After dropping the first set, Jordyn McBride earned a comeback 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6.
 
Claudia De Las Heras was the first to finish, earning a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 2. She has won seven straight singles matches.
 
San Diego improves to 8-6 (3-0 WCC) on the season, and will host UC Santa Barbara tomorrow. The Toreros have won four straight matches, all at home.
