SAN DIEGO – In its eighth consecutive WCC title match appearance, the No. 30 University of San Diego men's tennis team fell to #37 Pepperdine, 4-0.
 
The Waves earned the tight doubles point with 6-4 wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Iiro Vasa and Sacchitt Sharrma's match against  #54 Zeitvogel/De Jonge went unfinished at 5-5 on court one.
 
Pepperdine then won the first three singles matches at No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6 to clinch the victory.
 
"Hats off to Pepperdine," said head coach Ryan Keckley. "They took the match from us today. In singles, we never got comfortable playing to our strengths on multiple courts. We can't play into matches like the WCC finals and expect to have success against an experienced team. How young we are really came to light during this match. We will grow from these experiences and use them to prepare for an exciting NCAA tournament."
 
San Diego falls to 17-7 on the season, and will now wait for the NCAA Selection Show on Monday afternoon.
