Men's Tennis to Face UC Santa Barbara in NCAA First Round

SAN DIEGO - The University of San Diego men's tennis team earned an at-large bid to the 2023 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships, and will face UC Santa Barbara in the first round on Friday. For the second straight season, USD's portion of the bracket is hosted by the University of Southern California. 

On Friday, May 5, USD will face the Gauchos at 11 a.m. followed by USC taking on Idaho. Winning teams will square off in the NCAA Second Round at 2 p.m. on Saturday (May 6) to fight for a ticket to the NCAA Super Regional at sites to be determined.
 
San Diego fell to No. 37 Pepperdine in the WCC Championship, but enters the NCAA Tournament with a 17-7 overall record (8-1 in conference play).

The Toreros have won seven straight matches over UC Santa Barbara, including a 6-1 win last season at home. Iiro Vasa earned a singles and doubles win.

San Diego has now made 11 of the last 12 NCAA Tournaments, including six out of seven under head coach Ryan Keckley.
