HOW IT HAPPENED – DAY ONE
- The Toreros opened up action on Tuesday in the opening round, but the day was largely marred by rain.
- Several lengthy delays slowed the pace of play down at the USTA National Campus, until Evans and Goldsmith were finally able to get started indoors several hours after their scheduled start time.
- After the two sides battled to a 5-4 abandoned match earlier in the year, there was more of the same in the second meeting, with Evans and Goldsmith battling the Tigers duo for every game in every set.
- After taking a 3-1 lead in the opening set off a break point, Auburn answered to tie the match and would ultimately force a tiebreaker.
- Evans and Goldsmith recovered from a 5-4 deficit in the tiebreaker to take four of the final five points and win the opening set.
- The second set was nearly a mirror of the first, as the Toreros and Tigers each secured early breaks but ultimately found their way to a tiebreaker.
- Tied at 3-3 at the change of sides, Evans and Goldsmith preserved to take the tiebreaker and the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED – DAY TWO
- Facing the second-highest ranked team in the nation, Evans and Goldsmith battled through another gritty match that was marred by rain.
- After a quick 2-0 start for Michigan, the Toreros duo responded and secured a break point off a double fault from Jaedan Brown.
- Michigan responded with a break of their own and took a 4-1 lead in the opening set.
- The Toreros rallied back to secure a break point on a Kari Miller overhead error, but the momentum was stymied at 4-3 due to a thunderstorm that rolled into the Orlando area.
- Once the match moved inside, each side broke each other's serve, but the Wolverine duo won a deuce point at 5-4 to secure the opening set.
- From there, the Toreros were unable to claw back, as the Wolverines took the second set in a comfortable, 6-2 fashion.
