SAN DIEGO — With the WCC end-of-year awards announced on Tuesday, San Diego Women's Tennis notched six total all-conference awards to wrap up the regular season.
The singles list featured junior
Charlotte Keitel who took home All-WCC First Team honors leading the team at main court, with
Vilma Krebs Hyllested and
Hannah Read named All-WCC Second Team, and
Maria Shmakova earning All-WCC Honorable Mention honors.
In doubles, the sophomore duo of Read and
Anni Moll were named to All-WCC Second Team and the freshman tandem of Shmakova and Krebs Hyllested were named All-WCC honorable mention.
Newcomers made an impact for the Toreros in the 2025-26 season, as Keitel earned the All-WCC First Team honors in her first season with San Diego and freshmen Krebs Hyllested and Shmakova earned accolades of their own as well.
Krebs Hyllested went 12-6 on the season, going 4-0 in conference, including a straight-set ranked victory. Shmakova went 2-1 in conference and 9-6 overall, backed up by the four match winning streak she had towards the beginning of the season. As a doubles team, the pair went 8-1 on the season and were perfect in conference with a 4-0 record that earned them their honorable mention.
Read, last year's co-freshman player of the year, went 14-6 overall in her sophomore campaign, as she went 4-0 in conference, achieving a ranking as high as No. 51 during the season. Moll partnered with Read in doubles as the pairing earned All-WCC Doubles Second Team together.
