SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's basketball program has made another splash in the transfer portal, adding guard
Dylan Horton as a graduate transfer from Florida A&M.
Horton joins the Toreros for the 2023-24 season with one year of college eligibility remaining.
A native of Inglewood, Calif., Horton returns to her home state following a highly decorated run at Florida A&M. Horton was recently tabbed to the All-SWAC Second Team, while she led the Rattlers in scoring with 15.8 points per game. Horton shot 32.8% from three-point range, knocking down a team-best 39 three pointers.
Horton was a four-time SWAC Player of the Week and scored 727 points in two seasons and 45 games as a Rattler. Horton has recorded 12 games of 20 or more points in her collegiate career, including a career-high 32 scored against Grambling on Jan. 10, 2022. Horton finished the season ranking fourth in scoring and field goal percentage in the SWAC.
Prior to joining Florida A&M, Horton spent two seasons at the University of Virginia, where she played in 22 games.
Horton comes from an athletic family, as she is related to former Sacramento Kings guard Eugene "Pooh" Jeter and three-time Olympic medalist and sprinter Carmelita Jeter. Horton is also a gifted musician, with music available on Apple Music and Spotify.
Horton joins
Maddie Vejsicky (Virginia Tech) as the second transfer to join the program this offseason. The duo also joins incoming freshmen
