Sean Williams Hired as Women’s Soccer Goalkeepers Coach

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's soccer program has officially welcomed a new goalkeeper coach with local ties, hiring former Point Loma Nazarene goalkeeper Sean Williams.

"We are very excited to have Sean on our staff," said head coach Louise Lieberman. "Not only will our goalkeepers benefit from his expertise as a goalkeeper coach, but our whole team will learn so much from his vision of the game. Sean is passionate about soccer and teaching, so we look forward to his positive influence on the program."

Williams currently coaches with the DMCV Sharks and has been with the organization since 2018. During that time, Williams has coached several teams across the ECNL and ECRL and is currently in charge of three ECRL programs.

While working with ECNL girls, Williams oversaw coaching responsibilities for goalkeepers, while overseeing full teams at the ECRL level. Williams also oversaw a Surf Cup title during his tenure.

Prior to his coaching career, Williams spent two seasons as a member of former USL League Two side San Diego Zest FC, where he helped them reach the playoffs.

In his collegiate career, Williams helped lead Point Loma to the NCAA Tournament during his senior year for the first time in program history. Williams was also named a PacWest All-Academic honoree.

Williams graduated from PLNU with a degree in kinesiology in 2018 and earned his master's degree in occupational therapy from the University of St. Augustine.
