LODI, Calif. – San Diego Cross Country placed eighth in both the men's and women's West Coast Conference Championship races Saturday morning. The USD women moved up the field of 11 teams as all five scorers finished in the top 70 of the 6K course.
"I was pleased with how the women corrected the start of their race on the second loop," head coach
Will Guarino said.
The Toreros finished ahead of LMU, Pepperdine and Pacific in the league meet with 241 points. Grad
Grace Maurer led the way for USD again, finishing 47
th in 22:08.9.

th) rounded out the scoring for the Toreros, all finishing within 48 seconds of each other with sub 23-minute marks.
Senior
Jake Coleman highlighted the day for San Diego, placing 29
th overall in the 8K with a 24:48.0 time. He fronted the Toreros 227 points.
"He did a great job of getting out fast and placing himself in a pack that helped carry him," Guarino said.
Sophomore
Anthony Lenzini had a breakout race, placing 52
nd in 25:59.3, while
Sean O'Keefe (68
th),
Jack DeVries (70
th) and
Connor Cougevan (71
st) rounded out the scoring.
Next up, the Toreros will take on the best in the west at the NCAA West Regionals on Friday, Nov. 15 in rural Washington outside of Pullman on the Colfax Golf Course.
