SAN DIEGO – The No. 16 San Diego women's tennis program (5-2, 0-0 WCC) kept their red-hot spring rolling, downing Hawaii (3-4, 0-0 Big West), 7-0, on Friday afternoon at the Hogan Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• On a bright and sunny day in San Diego, the Toreros played inspired tennis to open the match, as they cruised to a quick doubles point.
• Elizabeth Goldsmith and Mia Mack rolled to a 6-1 win on court one, while the new duo of Claudia De Las Heras and Kristina Nordikyan matched that with their own 6-1 win to give San Diego a 1-0 lead.
• After rolling in doubles, Goldsmith and Mack were at it again, each taking their first sets 6-0.
• Five of six Toreros took the opening set to put San Diego on a path to winning.
• Much like the opening set, Goldsmith and Mack rolled through their matches in quick 6-1 second sets to give San Diego a 3-0 lead.
• Ultimately, Filippa Bruu-Syversen would be the one to clinch the match, with Abigail Desiatnikov quickly following suit.
• The final two matches proved to be much closer, as De Las Heras fell in the opening set but forced a third set tiebreaker.
• Nordikyan would also head to a third set tiebreaker, as the freshman won her first singles dual match in a 10-4 tiebreaker.
• De Las Heras was locked in a tight battle with her No. 86 ranked opponent, but managed to emerge with a thrilling, 10-8 tiebreaker to secure the 7-0 win.

• The Toreros continue their Big West homestand on Tuesday, hosting Cal State Fullerton on 2 p.m., at the Hogan Tennis Center.
