STOCKTON, Calif. – The San Diego women's basketball program (8-20, 4-11 WCC) were unable to bounce back after an early deficit, falling 82-62 to Pacific (16-12, 8-7 WCC) on Thursday night at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Jess Finney led the Toreros with 15 points and four rebounds, while
Kasey Neubert tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds for another double-double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pacific would jump out to a quick 10-0 advantage and never look back, shooting 48.7 percent from the field in the opening half.

- The two sides opened the second quarter on a more sluggish pace, but Finney and Courtney Wristen continued to keep the Toreros within striking distance, as Wristen added six points in the quarter.
- San Diego started the third quarter with more energy and cut the Pacific lead down to 10 on three occasions.
- Veronica Sheffey opened the half with a three-pointer and Neubert added a pair of baskets to give the Toreros some momentum.
- However, the Pacific lead would return and rise up to a high of 17 in the quarter.
- While Neubert added five more points in the fourth, the Toreros were never able to break through the advantage, as Pacific would go on to secure the 20-point win.
