SAN DIEGO – The San Diego softball program (6-20, 0-0 WCC) dropped a pair of games to end the Bulldog Classic, falling 8-6 to Nevada (19-6, 0-0 MWC) and 10-2 to Fresno State (17-5, 0-0 MWC) on Sunday at the Margie Wright Diamond.

HOW IT HAPPENED – NEVADA 8, SAN DIEGO 6
- After Nevada took a 2-0 lead into the second inning, the Toreros offense was able to click.
- Joecellia Roberts and Amanda Limon each singled and advanced a base to set up Carly Ruiz.
- Ruiz delivered with a two RBI single to tie the game up at 2-2 through two innings.
- However, a three-run home run in the third inning by the Wolfpack quickly forced San Diego to have to respond.
- Ruiz was once again up to the task with her third RBI of the day on a single to score Shawnese Hogue-Lacy and make it 5-3.
- After Nevada hit another three-run home run, the Toreros chipped away again.
- A Taylor Johnson double and Michelle Delgado walk set up Roberts, who came through with an RBI single.
- After an Arisa Tovar walk loaded the bases, Limon drove in another run with a bases-loaded walk to make it 8-5.
- However, the Wolfpack danced out of further trouble in the fifth and stranded all three runners.
- The Toreros threatened one final time in the sixth inning, as Mikalyn Emanuelli singled and advanced to second.
- Johnson would drive home the speedy Emanuelli on an RBI single and cut the lead to 8-6.
- With the tying run coming to the plate, the Wolfpack got a groundout to hang on for the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED – FRESNO STATE 10, SAN DIEGO 2 (F/5)
- The game opened in a very tight fashion and while the Bulldogs got an early run, McKenna Braegelmann delivered three, first inning strikeouts to get out of the jam.
- After Fresno State led 2-0 through two innings, the Toreros got one back in the third.
- Singles by Ruiz, Emanuelli and Johnson loaded the bases for Delgado, who drove in a run on a groundout to make it 2-1.
- However, the hosts would strike for four runs in the fourth inning to lead 6-1.
- After Emanuelli singled and Johnson drew a hit-by-pitch, the Toreros cut it back to 6-2 as Delgado put one in play that was mishandled by the third baseman to allow another run to come home.
- Fresno State would ultimately pull away in the bottom half of the fifth, scoring an additional four runs to end the game.

TORERO TIDBITS
- With a double this weekend, Johnson joins Tele Jennings for the team lead with eight. Only two Toreros finished with over eight doubles last season.
