SAN DIEGO – The No. 17 San Diego women's tennis program (10-4, 0-0 WCC) returned to the win column on Friday afternoon, rolling to a 6-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton (9-5, 2-1 Big West) at the Hogan Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two sides finally took the court against each other, following two previous postponements and the Toreros got off on the right foot early on.
- The duos of Kailey Evans and Kristina Nordikyan and Claudia De Las Heras and Jordyn McBride earned early break points to put the pressure on the Titans.
- While the Titans rallied on court two, Elizabeth Goldsmith and Mia Mack secured a break at 4-4 and pulled away, while Evans and Nordikyan cruised to put San Diego ahead 1-0.
- As singles began, Goldsmith set the tone in her first match of the season at No. 1 singles, jumping out to a 6-0 first set win.
- The Toreros were able to quickly take the match, as Goldsmith, Evans and Filippa Bruu-Syversen all won convincing, straight-set victories to put San Diego ahead 4-0.
- While the Titans got one back at No. 3 singles, De Las Heras rallied from a set down to cruise in the final two sets, 6-1, 6-0.
- To end the day, Abigail Desiatnikov held off a Titan rally to respond in the third set tiebreaker, taking an 8-2 lead and holding on for a 10-8 victory in the decisive tiebreaker.

- The Toreros will return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 27, traveling north to face Washington for a 2 p.m., match.
