SAN DIEGO – The No. 14 San Diego women's tennis program (6-3, 0-0 WCC) returns home for a midweek matchup with No. 67 San Diego State (6-3, 0-0 MWC), facing their local rival on Wednesday at 12 p.m., at the Hogan Tennis Center.
The time has been moved up from 2 p.m., due to projected inclement weather.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros got back in the win column, rolling past Rice, 4-0, on Feb. 25 in Houston, Texas.
- After taking the doubles point, the Toreros steamrolled through singles, winning three quick matches, headlined by a 6-0, 6-0 win for Filippa Bruu-Syversen.
OPPONENT HISTORY
- San Diego is 19-24 all-time against the Aztecs, but rolled to a 6-1 win at San Diego State in the last meeting back on Mar. 4, 2023.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- San Diego moved back up to No. 14 in the nation, after spending last week at No. 16 in the nation during their break from the action.
- Mia Mack continues to lead the Toreros in the national singles rankings, checking in at No. 47 in the nation.
- Claudia De Las Heras also rose in the singles rankings and is now up to No. 59 at the nation.
- In the first top-80 doubles rankings of the season, Kailey Evans and Kristina Nordikyan rank No. 72 overall, good for their first ranking as a pairing.
TORERO TIDBITS
- Elizabeth Goldsmith enters the weekend on a six-match win streak in singles and is 15-7 overall on the season.
- In addition, Goldsmith has not lost when playing at No. 3 singles this season.
