SAN DIEGO – The No. 21 San Diego women's tennis program (15-5, 5-0 WCC) finished off their regular season home slate in style, downing San Francisco (3-14, 0-6 WCC), 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Hogan Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the final home match of the regular season, the Toreros would strike early and often against the visiting Dons.
- Doubles took just over 30 minutes, as Kailey Evans and Mia Mack opened with a 6-2 win, before Elizabeth Goldsmith and Kristina Nordikyan followed with their own 6-3 victory.
- Singles got off to a dominant start, which was aided by a default at No. 6 singles to give San Diego a 2-0 lead.
- Jordyn McBride and Filippa Bruu-Syversen each tallied 6-0 opening sets and the Toreros quickly cruised to a 4-0 advantage shortly thereafter.
- The remaining matches would be finished in comfortable fashion.
NEXT UP
- The Toreros will wrap up the 2024 regular season on Friday, traveling north to face No. 8 Pepperdine in a battle for the WCC regular season title at 1 p.m., in Malibu, Calif.
