USD Athletics and Teamworks Influencer Announce Torero Exchange

New platform is designed to connect USD student-athletes and businesses for name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities

SAN DIEGO — University of San Diego Athletics, in partnership with Teamworks Influencer, has launched the Torero Exchange, a platform designed to connect USD student-athletes and businesses for name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities.

The Torero Exchange offers a streamlined and personalized portal that enables seamless communication between student-athletes and commercial enterprises, free of charge, to engage in NIL transactions.

"In the ever-evolving landscape of NIL, we are excited to introduce INFLCR as our go-to resource for USD student-athletes," said USD Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Athletics Kimya Massey. "Engagement with NIL and the various opportunities it presents is important, serving as a key component of remaining relevant and competitive in all that we do. We will empower our student-athletes to pursue their passions and interests while ensuring we do so the right way, with intention and purpose. Our goal is to equip USD student-athletes with the necessary education and resources to thrive, and this partnership will allow for that as we move forward."

Upon registration on the Torero Exchange, businesses gain access to a database of San Diego student-athletes, searchable by a variety of criteria, facilitating direct messaging or contact information requests. Influencer and USD will not participate in any NIL negotiations.

Once an NIL agreement is reached, a tailored reporting form, compliant with California law and USD Athletics Name, Image and Likeness guidelines, is created and submitted to the University of San Diego for review.

The Torero Exchange features a secure payment processing tool to ensure payments to student-athletes, along with the creation of a 1099 form accessible within the student-athlete's Influencer app, streamlining tax reporting processes. The platform will continue to provide educational resources on NIL, including financial literacy and brand development, while offering market insights, social media tracking, and engagement analysis.
