Women’s Soccer Adds Margaret Rabbitt as Transfer

SAN DIEGO – Head coach Greg LaPorte and the San Diego women's soccer program continue to add to the 2024 roster, as Margaret Rabbitt is set to join the team as a graduate transfer.
 
Rabbitt heads to San Diego after four years at George Washington and will have one season of eligibility remaining.

Career Highlights:
  • A versatile defender, Rabbitt heads west after her tenure at George Washington, where she played in 37 games and made 27 starts, while tallying three goals and three assists for nine points.
  • During her final campaign at George Washington, Rabbitt competed in 11 games and made five starts, tallying a goal and an assist.
  • Rabbitt made headlines last season when her bicycle kick goal against Saint Joseph's was named SportsCenter's top play of the day in their nightly top-10 plays.
  • One of her top performances came in 2022, when she tallied a goal and an assist for three points in a win over Saint Peter's.
  • Rabbitt holds an extra year of eligibility after missing all of her freshman season due to injury.
 
Rabbitt joins Katie Bessemer (Sacramento State), Emma Elias (Mater Dei Catholic HS), Aliya Garrett (Salt Lake CC), My Haugland Sørsdahl (UCLA), Molly Quarry (Montana/Nebraska), Jenna Rubidoux (Air Force), Elle Soleau (San Francisco/Boise State) and Natalie Yoo (Texas A&M/Coastal Carolina) as veteran additions for the 2024 season.
 
In addition, the Toreros feature a seven-member freshman class of Ella Callanan (Portland, Ore./Portland Thorns ECNL), Hannah Faklaris (Atlanta, Ga./TopHat SC), Clara Geuzaine (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Real Colorado ECNL), Marissa Morales (Gilbert, Ariz./Arizona Arsenal SC), Brianna Nesser (Riverside, Calif./Slammers FC ECNL), Rhea Pearson (Salt Lake City, Utah/La Rocca ECNL) and Chloe Walls (Chula Vista, Calif./San Diego Surf ECNL).
 
The Toreros will open action this fall with an exhibition against San Diego State on Aug. 8, before traveling to Cal State Fullerton for the 2024 season opener on Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.
