SAN DIEGO – Toreros picked up their first and second trophies of the fall tennis season after sweeping the singles and doubles titles on home courts for the UST SoCal Intercollegiate Championships.
 
"I'm happy that we have some things to be constructive about and continue to build confidence through our work ethic and daily standards," head coach Ryan Keckley said.
 
On their own Hogan Tennis Center courts on the USD campus grad Stian Klaassen claimed the singles championship while sophomore Adrien Berrut and redshirt junior Lambert Ruland teamed up for the doubles title.
 
"Stian did a fantastic job this week in a very physical tournament," said Keckley. "Lambert and Adrien continue to impress and have really been playing complementary doubles all year long."
 
Klaassen dominated, not dropping a set in a 5-0 weekend, as only one opponent was able to get four games off him in a set. The doubles tandem of Berrut and Ruland also fared well, the closest set score being 7-5 in the semifinal – they move to 6-0 on the season together.
 
Berrut also reached the singles quarterfinal while Klaassen and freshman Luc Wieland paired and reached the doubles semifinal.
