SAN DIEGO – San Diego women's basketball and head coach
Blanche Alverson are excited to unveil the team's full West Coast Conference schedule as announced by the league on Friday morning.
"I'm really excited for my first season leading the Toreros in the West Coast Conference," Alverson said. "The WCC is such a competitive league, filled with experienced coaches, talented players and passionate fan bases. Every night presents a challenge, and that's what makes it fun. It's an opportunity for our team to grow, compete and measure ourselves against some of the best. Our group is eager to take the floor, continue building our identity and represent the University of San Diego with pride. We can't wait to get started."
The Toreros will play in 18 total games during the league schedule with nine matchups at the Jenny Craig Pavillion and nine on the road as USD will start their league schedule in Northern California as they take on Santa Clara (December 28) and Pacific (December 30) just before the calendar flips to 2026.
USD will open their home WCC schedule in the Jenny Craig Pavilion right after the new year when they host San Francisco (January 2) and Saint Mary's (January 4) before heading back on the road to take on the conference's newest member Seattle (January 9) up in the Pacific Northwest.
San Diego will play two more key home games in the month of January as they will battle fellow Southern California institutions Pepperdine (January 10) and LMU (January 24) with a pair of road trips mixed in to the Bay Area, Spokane and matchups with both Oregon schools.
The Toreros will host five key home games in the month of February as the conference schedule hits its stretch run as USD will welcome: Washington State (February 5), Seattle U (February 7), Gonzaga (February 12), Oregon State (February 26) and Pacific (February 28) which will serve as the program's senior night.
With a revamped coaching staff and roster, the Toreros will open their season at home against Bethesda on November 3 for a 6:00 p.m. scheduled tip off. The team's full schedule includes a few marquee games in the JCP as USD will take on Arizona State (November 13), New Mexico State (November 24) and Utah State (December 7) in non-conference play.
