Women's Basketball Signs Kate Danner to 2026-27 Class

The versatile forward out of Texas will be an impact addition for USD

SAN DIEGOThe USD women's basketball program and head coach Blanche Alverson are excited to announce the signing of Kate Danner to the team's 2026-27 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon. 

Danner, is a 6'2" forward from Dallas, Texas that will provide key size and shooting for the Toreros after a stand out prep career at Highland Park High School.


"I'm thrilled to welcome Kate to our Torero family," Alverson said. "She brings a rare blend of length, skill and shooting ability that adds tremendous versatility to our roster. Beyond her talent, Kate's basketball IQ and natural leadership already reflect that championship mindset and culture we're building at USD!"

A First Team All-District selection for the Lady Scots, Danner put up impressive numbers during her junior season as she averaged 13.1 PPG and 5.6 rebounds while facing top-level competition in Texas' 5A division. 

Picked as a 2024-25 All-State selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches as well as the TABC All-Region team, Danner headlines the upcoming Torero women's basketball freshman class.
