Maspat Headlines Torero Efforts at Pauma Valley Invitational

Senior finished T-17 to lead Toreros in T-9 finish at Pauma Valley Country Club on Tuesday afternoon

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. — San Diego golf on Tuesday afternoon completed play in the Pauma Valley Invitational, finishing tied for ninth of 15 total teams at Pauma Valley Country Club (Par 71, 7,311 yards).

As a team, the Toreros were +10, combining for rounds of 287, 294, and 281 strokes to total 862 in the tournament.

Ian Maspat set forth USD's strongest performance for a second consecutive week, carding a two-under 211 after rounds of 71, 73, and 67 strokes to place tied for 17th.

True freshman Cooper Humphreys carded the next best score for USD at T-33 after turning in a three-over 216 (75, 73, 68), followed by Ryan Abuan at T-39 (+4, 68, 73, 76, 217), and Jaden Cantafio at T-56 (+8, 75, 76, 70, 221).

You Seong Choi rounded out San Diego's results with a finish at T-69 (+11, 73, 75, 76, 224).

The Toreros are back in action on Monday, March 31, when they travel to Maricopa, Arizona to begin play in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes.
