STOCKTON, Calif. — USD Women's Tennis concluded it's two-game weekend road swing Sunday afternoon with a complete 7-0 win over Pacific to earn its fourth straight conference victory, allowing it to remain undefeated in 2025 West Coast Conference play.
The Toreros (4-0) remain in first in the conference with a match in hand on No. 20 Pepperdine (3-0) before the two teams meet at San Diego's own Hogan Tennis Center on Saturday, April 12 at 12 p.m. on a Cracked Racquets broadcast.
San Diego has now won four straight doubles points and 19 unanswered singles points to start conference play.
The 35th-ranked doubles duo in seniors Kailey Evans and Claudia de las Heras finished their strong weekend with a 6-0 victory in No. 1 doubles, losing just three total points of 27 played to secure the first win of doubles for USD.
Underclassmen Anni Puls and Kristina Nordikyan sealed the doubles point with a 6-4 win in No. 3 doubles, giving the Toreros an early 1-0 lead.
Freshman Hannah Read was the first to strike in singles for San Diego, doing so with a 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 2 singles.
Brionna Nguyen extended the USD lead to 3-0 when she took down her opponent 6-3, 6-0 to earn one of the best wins of her career, playing at No. 6 singles.
de Las Heras clinched the victory for the Toreros on main court, earning her second win of the road swing by sets of 6-1 and 6-4.
With three matches to go, San Diego and Pacific decided to play out the match. Gabby Gregg was the final Torero to finish her match in straight sets, as she took down her opponent in No. 4 singles 7-5 and 6-3 to make it 5-0.
Puls and Nordikyan each won their first sets at No. 5 and No. 3 singles — 6-3 and 7-5, respectively — before they both dropped their second sets, 7-5 and 6-3. Due to the match already being clinched, they both played super tiebreakers to decide their third sets. Puls was first to finish, winning by a 10-8 margin, before Nordikyan rounded out play with a 10-6 victory in her tiebreaker.

The Toreros will look to remain undefeated in conference play next Saturday when they return home for a match against Pepperdine where they will celebrate Senior day. First serve against the Waves at Hogan Tennis Center is set for noon PST and will be streamed live on the Cracked Racquets YouTube.
