SAN DIEGO – San Diego Women's Soccer announced its 2025 schedule on Tuesday, an 18-match slate that has second-year USD Head Coach
Greg LaPorte's squad host 11 total matches inside Torero Stadium and take on 11 West Coast Conference matches for the first time.
"Our schedule is both challenging and exciting, and it's exactly the kind of test we want," said LaPorte. "We're carrying great confidence into the fall after an undefeated spring."
The Toreros scored 14 goals with only two surrendered in six matches this spring. Add in the incoming freshmen, wave-making College Cup transfer Abbie Colton and more, and 'Las Toreras' have great reason to be confident.
"We've earned respect, but we're not done proving ourselves. This schedule is our next opportunity to show just how far this team can go."
After exhibition matches locally at San Diego State on Aug. 6 and hosting Arizona Western on Aug. 9, USD officially opens the 2025 regular season with a home match under the lights against Cal Poly on Thursday, Aug. 14.
San Diego will then host the UC Irvine Anteaters on Aug. 21. The two sides drew last season in Irvine, LaPorte's first career point as head coach. On Aug. 24 the Toreros will hit the road for the first time, traveling to take on UC Santa Barbara, who they also drew with last season.
USD returns home for a pair of Sunday home matches against opponents they claimed shutout victories against last season, facing CSUN on Aug. 31 and UC Riverside on Sept. 7.
The second road affair of the season will see Las Toreras face Long Beach State north on I-5 on Sept. 11. San Diego comes back home for its seventh and final non-conference matchup, a home tilt with California Baptist, who they drew with last year.
"Hosting top programs and traveling to face strong opponents will sharpen us for conference play," said LaPorte.
USD will face each team of the new 12-member WCC once, including new members Seattle University to round out the regular season.
First, the Toreros host Pacific on Sept. 24, whom they beat last season for LaPorte's first career win as head coach. Then, they travel to Spokane, Wash. to face Gonzaga on Sept. 27.
To start October, San Diego returns to America's Finest City to play host to Washington State on the fourth. Thereafter, the side will go back up to the Pacific Northwest for an Oregon road trip, facing Portland on Oct. 8 and Oregon State on Oct. 12 in Corvallis.
Las Toreras come home for a three-match home stand, facing Pepperdine on Oct. 17, Saint Mary's on Oct. 22 and LMU on Saturday, Oct. 25.
The final road trip of the regular season has USD heading up to the Bay Area, taking on San Francisco on Nov. 1 and Santa Clara on Nov. 5. The Toreros return home for the first matchup against Seattle as conference opponents, a Senior Day clash to round out the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 8.
