CARLSBAD, Calif. — San Diego completed competition in the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Championships on Sunday evening, concluding a historic season that saw the Toreros reach the pinnacle of college golf under first-year head coach
Evan Emerick.
The Toreros finished 30th of 30 teams at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa North Course (7,528 yards/par 72), combining for 919 strokes across three rounds that put them 55 over par before missing the tournament's cut. As a team USD put together rounds of 294 (+6), 316 (+28), and 309 (+21) in the event.
It marked San Diego's fifth appearance in the NCAA National Championship and the program's first since the 2020-2021 season.
Jaden Cantafio set forth the Toreros' most successful performance, finishing tied for 87th in the event by carding a nine-over 225 (75, 74, 76). He was followed by
Cooper Humphreys, who placed at T-96 with rounds of 71, 78, and 77 (+10, 226).
Ryan Abuan finished in 129th place and 15 over par with rounds of 75, 82, and 74.
Ian Maspat rounded out San Diego's results with a finish in 150th place, shooting 26 over par by carding rounds of 77, 83, and 82 (242 total strokes).
