NORMAN, Okla. — University of San Diego men's golfer
Ian Maspat has been named an Honorable Mention selection on the 2026 NCAA Division I PING All-America Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.
Maspat is one of 30 golfers nationally to earn honorable mention recognition, joining the First, Second and Third Team selections announced by the GCAA.
The redshirt senior captured the West Coast Conference individual championship this spring, posting a 15-under 198 to tie the WCC 54-hole scoring record. He earned All-WCC First Team and PING All-West Region honors and was a key part of USD's postseason run, making a clutch birdie in the five-hole playoff against Liberty at the NCAA Corvallis Regional that sent the Toreros to the national championship for the sixth time in program history and the second consecutive season.
At the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, Maspat carded a 6-under 66 in the opening round — the lowest score of the first round — to share the 18-hole lead in a field of more than 150 players. San Diego went on to make the 54-hole cut and finish 15th as a team, the program's best result at the national championship since 2011.
The GCAA has named All-Americans since 1958, with PING sponsoring the award for more than three decades.
